Securing the Future of Orthodontics

Robert Boyd

Robert L. Boyd DDS, MEd, Professor Emeritus

When I think about what the future will bring now that I am retired, I worry that orthodontic treatment could diminish in importance as a health science if we do not give enough support for good clinical research and teaching for our universities.

As a lifetime educator, I thought it was very important to first become a Regent Society Member of the American Association of Orthodontists Foundation and then to become part of estate giving through the AAO Foundation Keystone Society.

Our department at the University of the Pacific Dugoni School of Dentistry would never have been able to achieve the level of excellence we did without the sustained and generous support of the AAO Foundation over the last 20 years.
